Councilmember Peterson commented on the amount of citizen input Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br />Boos has received. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to recommend City Council <br />approve the Phase II budget and improvements to Emerald Pond park and direct Staff to proceed <br />toward completion of the park's development. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Award Bids for Central Park's Field Lighting and Flintwood Terrace <br />Playground <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the bids for lighting softball fields #3 and #4 in Central Park was <br />advertised in the Anoka County Union as well as the Builders Exchange and Dodge Reports. Bid <br />opening occurred on Friday, May 19. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Mayor Hardin to recommend Council adopt the <br />resolution awarding the contract for Central Park's athletic field lighting to Electric Systems of <br />Anoka and Electro Mechanical Contracting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart explained that, based upon a meeting with residents near the Flintwood Terrace Park, a <br />specific request for bids, not to exceed $32,000, was prepared. Bids were solicited directly from <br />three vendors and also advertised in the Anoka County Union. The Park and Recreation <br />Commission reviewed the bids and recommended the Iron Mountain Forge proposal in the amount <br />of $32,000. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend Council adopt the <br />resolution receiving bids and awarding contract for the installation of play equipment at Flintwood <br />Terrace Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Review Recommendations for Changes to Joint Powers Agreement <br />Between the City of Anoka and the City of Ramsey for the Supply of <br />Municipal Water Service to Portions of the City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart pointed out the proposed JPA between the City of Anoka and the City of <br />Ramsey for municipal water was presented at the last meeting. Staff has since reviewed it and <br />forwarded it to City Attorney Goodrich plus City Administrator Schroeder has had conversation <br />relating to this with Mark Nagel, Anoka City Manager. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to recommend Council <br />approve the redrafted agreement and forward to the City of Anoka for consideration, contingent <br />upon review by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
