Case #2:

Schedule Joint Meeting Between Park and Recreation Commission
and City Finance Committee

Consensus was to schedule the joint meeting between the Park and Recreation Commission and the
Finance Committee for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 1996.

COMMITTEE INPUT

1 ) Sports Federation

City Administrator Schroeder reported that a meeting had been held with the Sports Federation.
They have figured out a way to effectively fund with a revenue bond. They are looking for early
approval so they can plan their construction schedule.

Councilmember Beyer felt there are too many unanswered questions about this and some things do
not feel right.

Councilmember Zimmerman stated that maybe there is more of a demand for this type of thing in
the Elk River area or the Becket area.

Mr. Schroeder asked if what he is hearing is that no one is interested in pursuing the sports
complex.

Mayor Hardin felt that it's worth pursuing if the numbers are right. He felt it would be a positive
thing for the City of Ramsey. It provides the opportunity for youths to have something to do after
school.

Councilmember Beyer suggested working on something like that of our own. We have to be
creative.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Mayor Hardin to adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Peterson and Zimmerman.
Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Zimmerman.

The regular meeting of the Finance Committee adjourned at 6:48 p.m.

Respectfully submit[ed,
ReCording Secretary //":~

Jessie Hart
Finance Officer

Finance Committee/June 25, 1995
