FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 1996, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer (arrived late) <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Adminisa'ator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:05 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda with the addition of Case #6. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Authorize Budget Amendment for Acceptance of Grant and Purchase <br />of Automatic Defibrillator Device for the Fire Department <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported that the Fire Department applied for and was awarded a matching <br />funds grant for the purchase of an automatic defibrillator device. The grant was obtained through <br />the Prudential Helping Heart Program. The grant and related purchase was not planned for in the <br />1996 or the 1997 budgets and, therefore, will require a budget amendment if the purchase is <br />approved. The Fire Chief has done an analysis on his department budget for 1996, and has <br />determined that the $1,877.59 of needed matching funds could be obtained through a budget re- <br />allocation from the training line item. The excess money is available due to the fact that the officers <br />did not have a management training session and the "day" responders did not require training <br />beyond that which was provided in the evening. The impact of this budget amendment would be <br />an increase in the overall budget by $1,877.59 and a re-allocation of $1,877.59 from the training <br />line item to a capital equipment line item. <br /> <br />Finance Committee/December 10, 1996 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
