Memorandum

CC:

From:

Date:

Re:

Mayor and City Council
James Way, Police Chief
William Goodrich, City Attorney
Jo Thieling, City ~
/ \
6/26/2003 /
Super Bowl Liquor ~se ~

On Tuesday, June 10, 2003, City Council conducted a public
hearing and approved an on-sale liquor license for Super Bowl.
This was not for a new establishment; it was for new owners of a
current establishment. In the meantime, Mr. Anderson (new
owner) attempted to register the Super Bowl name with the State
and found that it is already registered and cannot be used. He is
requesting the name of his establishment be changed to Holm's
Super Bowl Lanes. Nothing in the application changes other than
the establishment name - the corporation name remains the same
(M & M Super Bowl Inc.). Therefore, the City Attorney has
advised me that a new public hearing is not necessary. This memo
is for your information only- no other action is necessary.

On Tuesday, June 24, 2003, Council received the memo (paragraph
above) relating to a name change for Super Bowl. In conversations
this week with the new owners, he misunderstood the name
registration, and he is able to name his business Super Bowl.
Therefore, we are going back to the beginning - the name is Super
Bowl. Again, there is no action necessary. This is an informational
item.

If you have any questions, please contact me (763-433-9840). Thank
you - Jo
