I0 <br /> <br />INTRODUCE ORDINANCES TO AMEND HOUSING MAINTENANCE STANDARDS <br />AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR RENTAL HOUSING <br /> By: Sylvia Frolik, Community Development Director <br /> Amy Geisler, Community Development Intern <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In 2002, the City Council directed staff to review and update City Code as it relates to the <br />maintenance of all housing in the City of Ramsey, as well as the licensing of rental housing. The <br />Ramsey Housing Committee has reviewed the draft amendments to City Code and forwarded it <br />to the City Council for review. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) Draft Housing MaintenanceOrdinance <br />b) Draft Rental Housing Licensing Ordinance <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />As you recall, the City Council reviewed the proposed amendments to City Code on May 27, <br />2003. Staff formatted the amendments into ordinance format and they are now ready for formal <br />introduction. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends introduction of the proposed ordinances. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember and seconded by Councilmember to introduce <br />the proposed ordinance to amend Section 8.60 (Residential Housing Standards) and repeal <br />Section 8.61 (Multiple Dwellings) of City Code regarding housing maintenance. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember and seconded by Councilmember to introduce <br />the proposed ordinance to amend City Code with the addition of Section 7.15 (Rental Residential <br />Dwelling Units) of City Code regarding the licensing of rental housing. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />City Attorney <br />Building Inspectors <br /> <br />Copies To: <br />City Administrator <br />City Clerk <br />Community Dev.
