ADOPT ORDINANCE FOR A SIX MONTH EXTENSION <br />TO THE DEVELOPMENT MORATORIUM ON <br /> HWY. #10, WEST OF ARMSTRONG BLVD. N.W. <br /> By: Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CASE <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On June 24, 2003, the City Council introduced an ordinance for a 6 month extension of the <br />development moratorium on certain parcels located north and south of T.H. #10, west of <br />Armstrong Blvd. N.W. The purpose of the moratorium extension is to protect the planning <br />process while Mn/DOT, Anoka County and Hennepin County complete the Scoping Document <br />related to the Northwest Metro Corridor and River Crossing Study. The purpose of the study is <br />to consider long-term options to address the relief of congestion on the highway corridors and <br />Mississippi River crossings. <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />Staff attempted to send written notice to all property owners (fee title) of the proposal to extend <br />the moratorium period. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />In accordance with the City Charter, the ordinance is now eligible for adoption.
