APPROVE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

The Park and Recreation Commission noted the workshop minutes dated February 1, 1996.

NOTE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

The Commission noted the Planning Commission public hearing and regular meeting minutes
dated January 2, 1996.

COMMISSION BUSINESS:

Case #1: 1996 TREE SALE

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that this will be the 22nd year Ramsey has sponsored a
tree sale for its residents. Beacause there doesn't appear to be a great deal of public enthusiasm
for the Environmental Expo, it will not be held in conjunction with the tree sale.

Mr. Boos encouraged Commission members to attend the tree sale and take advantage of the
savings.

The event is tenatively scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m., May 4, 1996, at the Ramsey Elementary
School.

Case #2: SOLSTICE PARK UPDATE

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos reviewed the development of Solstice Park since 1994 with
grading and turf establishment, play equipment, shelter, and path construction which was
completed in the spring of 1995.

Mr. Boos indicated that an Eagle Scout is working on a native plant bed with plaquards
explaining species and native habitat.

He voiced that the landscape proposal for the 35 foot corridor between the houses would be
canopied with aspen to direct people through the path and to protect homeowners from trail
users.

Co-Chair Cook inquired about a volleyball court.

Park and Recreation Commission/March 14, 1996
Page 2 of 7
