9.12.15 Permit Fees. The permit fee for permanent and temporary signs shall be as provided by <br />City Council resolution. <br /> <br />9.12.16 Exemptions <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. The exemptions permitted by this Section shall apply only to the <br />requirement of a permit and/or fee and shall not be construed as relieving the installer of the sign, or the <br />owner of the property upon which the sign is located, from conforming with the other provisions of this <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. A permit, but no fee, is required under this Section for the following signs: <br /> <br />ao <br /> <br />Temporary or permanent signs erected by a non-profit organization, as defined by <br />Internal Revenue Code, Section 503C. <br /> <br />b. Signs erected by a governmental unit or public school district. <br /> <br />Portable sians, balloons, streamers, gas filled figures, Whirling devices and <br />revolving searchlights used in conjunction with a public event or grand opening for <br />t4~o-week .a. period of up to thirty (30) days surrounding .of-the public event or grand <br />opening only. <br /> <br />d. On-site construction signs having a sign area of eighty (80) square feet or less. <br /> <br />_On premise directional/information signs having asian area of our (4) square feet or <br />less____:. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. No permit or fee is required under this Section for the following signs: <br /> <br />a. A window sign not exceeding thirty percent (30%) of the window area. <br /> <br />ab. Holiday decorations temporarily displayed on traditionally accepted civic, patriotic, <br /> or religious holidays. <br /> <br />_dc. On premise address or nameplate identification signs having a sign area of four (4) <br /> square feet or less. <br /> <br />Memorial plaques or tablets, grave markers, statutory, <br />persons or events that are non-commercial in nature. <br /> <br />or other remembrances of <br /> <br />Interior signs which are fully located within the interior of any building or stadium, <br />or within an enclosed lobby or court of any building, or in the lobby or entrance of <br /> <br /> <br />
