Ostrum and Rolfe and asked if they had the understanding that their terms were up. He asked if <br />they had been informed at all that this was the case and he stated they did not have any <br />information. At that point, he called staff and brought it up to them. He stated staff told him it <br />,,,,'as still up in the air, and they had to do more research. The staff did tell Chairperson Cook that <br />Commissioners Ostrum's and Rolfe's terms were up. He stated staff told him that their positions <br />were eligible for reappointment. He stated Staff told him that they w~uld be contacted regarding <br />this and that they would ne:d to fill out some paperwork. He stated Staff told him that <br />Commissioner Johns and himself would be on the Commission until October of 2002. He asked <br />Commissioners Ostrum and Roife if they had received anything regarding this. <br /> <br />Commissioners Ostrum and Rolfe indicated neither had received anything. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook asked that Staff tabled everything to do with their Commission until <br />Commissioners Ostrum and Rolfe have the opportunity to apply for reappointment. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johns stated Commissioners Ostrum, Rolfe, Olds were up for reappointment and <br />that the Commission still has a vacancy to fill. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook stated this was true. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated it is important for the City Council to get the vacancy and reappointments done. <br />He stated the City Council would be officially sending them information. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook stated the Commission should go about business as usual until this is cleared <br />up. He stated that under the new requirements, people who are being reappointed come to the <br />interview process the same as if they were applying for the original position. He asked Mr. Boos <br />if this was correct. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated this was correct. <br /> <br />Note: Ramsey Resident Article on River's Bend Play Equipment <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted the Ramsey Resident article on the play equipment <br />installed at River's Bend. He stated the current equipment is great play equipment but does not <br />meet the current consumer products safety guidelines. Mr. Boos stated the City Council <br />authorized approval of the Master City Trail Plan and the greenways application. He stated he <br />believed this would be successful. He stated that the Commission would probably be receiving a <br />presentation on the Master City Trail Plan at next months meeting. He advised the City Council <br />approved the $262,000 of Park Trust Fund monies for Elm Crest Park and authorized that <br />project. Mr. Boos stated he met with experts in a planning conference with URS Corporation. <br />He stated they had a very successful meeting and learned a lot on how to do this more efficiently <br />and cost effect and they are moving ahead with the project full speed.
