Case #3

Select Playground Equipment for Woodland Green Park
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities SuperVisor

Background:

As the Commission will recall, The Developer of the Highlands at River Park is required to install
play equipment and parking lot at the park before the end of October, 2002.

Observation:

Attached are three different playground choices that reflect the approximate 40,000 identified by the
Commission to be allocated for this element of Highland's Park Dedication. Each of the three
proposals, contains a line item for aggregate. Staff is recommending that this $1,200 - $1,400 cost
be redirected to additional play value.

The existing spring riders and merry-go-round will be evaluated for reuse in the park. The other
used equipment can be declared surplus and offered for sale if it is in reusable condition after
removal.

Staff will bring full size displays of the enclosed proposals.

Reviewed by:
Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Copies to:
Mr. Rick Packer

P/R: 09/12/02

21
