<br />using PINs. The search provided data showing that several lots
<br />within the village's corporate boundaries were substandard. This
<br />prompted the municipali .fy' to look into determining which
<br />residential lots within the municipality did nor meet due
<br />minimum lot size requiremen= oudined in the ordinance. The
<br />stal3-waz able to determine the Location of substandard
<br />residential lots by using the GIS. I.n the past, this could have
<br />been a r/me-consuming process involving di~erent staff'
<br />accessing paper and digital resources in order co puli together
<br />accurate inform'-,don.

<br />selection ctireria that is built through a tabular select statement)
<br />and asked the GIS to Locate every lot zoned R-2 daar fell below a
<br />specified square footage, ~empdng uses such a.s planned u-mr
<br />developments and mbdivbion=. From the query, the planner
<br />could pinpoint two major areas within the municipality where
<br />the majority of chest lots were located, a result of annexation by'
<br />the counw. The mtmi¢ipalit7 is now considering adjusting the
<br />floor area ratio of properde~ zoned R-I so new homes can be
<br />built on the smaller lots.
