If they close <br />off 155"' Lane he would have to assume that the traffic would continue down to the Yakima exit <br />on 153a Lane. <br /> <br />Resident stated that they have to look at the overall traffic amounts. He was very concerned <br />about additional traffic on 155~' Lane. He felt that if people want to access 156m Lane they <br />should do so directly from-the development to the north. <br /> <br />Conununity Development Director Frolik noted a letter that was received from John __?, 4899 <br />Lane NW, Kamsey. The letter stated that he supported, the Council on approving the plat, but <br />wished there would be more buffering and transition. He would Support a plat with no <br />connection at Ute Street. <br /> <br />Mr. Smith stated that he lives on top of the hill and at the bottom.of the 1-fill there is a bike path. <br />There are twenty more k/ds riding their bikes on the path then they are using the park. <br /> <br />Motion to by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Zimmerman, Anderson, <br />and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 8:27 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 8:27 p.m. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman stated that the number of lots in the plat in relationship to the <br />amount of park is inadequate. He would agree to having more cul-de-sacs, because they are a <br />good place to live and traffic is not fast. May take more time to plow, but they provide more <br />safety for children than a through street. He felt they could do better on density transitioning. <br />Would agree to closing offUte Street. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what happens aRer a traffic analysis is completed. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich replied that the information presented should be included when making a <br />determination. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that the Charter states that if a development inCreases traffic <br />through an existing residential development the Council has to limit the density.
