If you are aware of an <br />important site and would like the site to be considered for protection funding through this <br />pro.am, we ask you to do the following: <br /> <br />Step One: <br /> <br />Review the enclosed materials, e.g., Metro Greenways Program <br />Description, Site Selection Criteria, and the Protection Nomination <br />Form. These materials are also available on the DNR's Web Page at: <br />vm'w.dnr.statd.mn.us/_~reenprint/metro-green.html These materials <br />can be down loaded for your convenience. <br /> <br />· Step Tsvo: <br /> <br />Call Bill Penning, MG Outreach Coordinator, at (651) 793-3981 if you have <br />any questions or need assistance. <br /> <br />Step Three: Submit the "Site Nomination" form by January 26, 20.01 <br /> <br />Nominated sites will be evaluated on the basis of the enclosed site selection criteria. A panel <br />comprised of representatives from agenciei and non-governmental organizations involved in <br />establishing the Metro Greenways program, as well as DNR staff, will conduct the initial <br />evaluation. The ranked list will then be forwarded to an Advisory Committee who will review <br /> forward their recommendations to the Commissioner of Natural Resources and then to'the <br /> .egislative Commission on Minnesota Resources for final approval. It is anticipated that the <br />selection process for the second round would be completed by the end of June, 2001.. <br /> <br />We encourage you to nominate sites at anytime. However, submiSsions aRer January 26th will <br />not be considered in the initial list of sites recommended for funding <br /> <br />Thank you for your interest in Metro Greenways.
