CASE #: 3 IDENTIFY OUTDOOR MEETING SCHEDULE By: Mark Boos, Parks & Utilities Supervisor Background: For several years, the Park and Recreation Commission has held regular meetings outdoors in the months of May through October (weather pending). This provided the Commission an opportunity to inspect and comment on parks as a group and it afforded residents access to the Commission on a neighborhood level. On the few occasions of inclement weather, the Commission conducted regular meetings at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, this year the alternative site we will be at Fire Station #2 also at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of this case is to confirm the Commission's desire for outdoor meetings in 2001 and, if so, what the locations will be. Observations: Earlier this year when the Commission addressed the annualized agenda issue, the consensus was that City Council members will be invited to tour the City park's with the Park and Recreation Committee during the month of June at Central Park. Having a joint City Council and Park and Recreation meeting will allow an opportunity to review the 5-Year Capital Improvement Program. With this in mind, Central Park is shown for this month. Rabbit Park is proposed for July as the new play equipment is expected to be installed by then. May: June: Central Park July: Rabbit Park August: Sept: Oct: tentative After the Commission decides where (or if) the meetings will be heldl their locations will be published in the Ramsey Resident newsletter. Commission Action: Determine if outdoor meetings will be held in 200I and, if so, their locations. -And Motion to invite and schedule a joint City Council meeting and tour during the month of June on ., at P.M.
