August, 2001 To Whom It May Concern: This is in response to the Notice of Publ/c Hearing received on July 27, 2001 regarding Lord of Life's request to rezone their property to allow for High- Density Multi-Family units to be built, and a variance to exceed height restrictions for those tm/ts. We live at 24657 Fluorine St. Our property is property #2 as shown in the upper left corner on the preliminary desigm sent out with the notice. We share a property line with Lord of Life church. Tlmnk you in advance f~ ~ading through, tkis letter, mad considering our op.iniom. We hope that an outcome can be reached that will be satisfactory for everyone. The purpose of this letter is to make known that we are strictly AGAINST the rezon.ing issues being considered. The reasons will be listed here, as well as some ideas for compromise, so that ALL parties are taken into consideration ha the outcome of this issue. The fu'st reason we are agairmt the building of kigh-density multi-family units is because k will further surround our neighborhood of sinCe- family-homes with traffic. When the City o£Ramsey okayed the plans to build our neighborhood in 1993 or 1994 (.our house was built in I994), the plans called for our cul-de-sac to be Wedged in between Highway 5, Lord of Life property, and Highway 47. As it stands now, we are surrounded by 3 roads: Hwy. 5, the street in front 0four house, and Hwy. 47- a short distance from our back yard. Rezon/ng for this Plan would create yet ANOTHER road running right along the BACK of our yard. Not only will this decrease the value of our home SIGNIFICANTLY, but it will bring the noise to a hig~her level. Usually, backing up to a church is a plus (location, location, location is the key in real estate). But suddenly adding apartment complexes on chur6h property changes the atmosphere considerably - negatively. Yes, we chose to live close to two highways, but we did not choose to have a road in our backyard, It is not people living IN an apartment complex that creates noise. The road. going to those 47 homes is where the activity will be, becoming the noisiest, busiest part of the entire church property -- and fight now the plans call for that to be in our backyards.
