for that. He stated he has not researched the grant program to see if this is disallowed but would
like the Commission to consider funding the lawful gambling programs use for a not to exceed
amount of $1,400.00 for this, if there is no concerns with funding.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained one reason he thinks it is appropriate is because the
Environment Policy Task Force is made up of people chosen by the City Council and'they have
spent many hundreds of hours to research this and prepare the information for the book. He
asked the Commission to approve it based upon limited information.

Chairperson Johns noted it sounds worthwhile .and would be great to have it in time for the expo
provided it meets the Standard.

Commissioner Rolfe stated he thought it was a good resource for the community and thought it
was good idea and they could send some to nursery and by using the grant, they would not need
to charge for the book and they could recoup the cost of printing.

Commissioner Lehman indicated this is a book that would be used for many years,

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained this information could also be available on the City
web site.

Commissioner Olds stated the money used on this potentially would be recouped one hundred
fold.

Chairperson Johns asked for clarification if they were looking for funding for just the
Environmental Expo.

Commissioner Rolfe explained they were lOoking for money to have a printing run of about a
thousand books.

Chairperson Johns stated when new people move in; they would either have a book in their
recycle bin or a flyer on where they could fmd the information on the internet.

Motion by Commissioner Olds, seconded b y Commissioner S hryock t o approve matching t he
printing of the books not to exceed $1,400.00

Motion carried.
