CASE

PRIORITY STREET LIGHTING UPDATE
By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer

Background:

The City Council approved the concept of the installation of street lights at intersections identified
as "Priority A" at their meeting on April 25, 1995. The funding source for the installation of the
new lights and operation and maintenance of the entire priority street lighting system is to come
from billings directly to residential properties. During this discussion staff was instructed to
review those intersections designated as "Priority A" and resubmit to the Finance Committee on
May 23, 1995, the costs associated with the installation so that new billing numbers could be
calculated, if necessary.

The street lighting map, along with the most recent list of priorities, has been forwarded to Police
Chief Mike Auspos for his review and proposed changes to those intersections listed as "Priority
A". Due to certain time constraints this will not be completed in time for this meeting, although
Chief Auspos has indicated that he and Community Development Intern Kendra Lindahl will be
working on this task and the revised list of priorities and new cost calculations will be submitted
for review and approval at the Finance Committee meeting on June 27, 1995.

Committee Action:

None required at this time - for discussion and informational purposes only.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Police Chief
City Engineer

FC: 05/23/95
