CASE

DECLARE SURPLUS PROPERTY
By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer

Background:

As you might recall, the Police Department purchased four 1995 Ford Crown Victorias to be used
for marked squads. While they maintained one 1993 Ford Crown Victoria as the unmarked squad
(investigator), they wansferred the following to the adminiswative fleet:

1990 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-4)
1992 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-101)
1993 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-102 and #S-103)

It is anticipated that due to the mileage on the 1990 Ford Crown Victoria (#S-4) it will be sold as
surplus property. The remaining three transferred into the administrative fleet are still set-up for a
quick conversion to a marked squad, if the need should arise (wiring, lights, etc.).

In addition to the changes in the police fleet, the Streets Department purchased a new 1995 2-1/2
ton dump with plow and wing and the Utilities Department purchased a new &wheel drive pick-up
equipped with plow. Both of these pumhases were replacements for the following vehicles which
are to be sold as surplus property:

1982 Ford L-8000 2-1/2 ton dump with plow and wing (#607)
1985 Chevrolet Utility Pick-up (#614)

With the additions noted above and the rotations into the administrative fleet, the following vehicles
should be declared as surplus property and be disposed of in a manner which provides the most
benefit to the City:

#S-4
#607
#614
#700
#702
#703

1990 Ford Crown Victoria
1982 Ford L-8000 2-1/2 ton dump with plow and wing
1985 Chevrolet Utility Pick-up
1989 Ford Crown Victoria
1989 Ford Crown Victoria
1987 Chevrolet Caprice

As a result of the recent computer purchase, it is possible that upon installation of the new system,
which will occur on September 29, 1995, there may be various pieces of computer equipment that
could also be sold.

In addition to the above, we are asking that the buildings located at the "old" Public Works site be
declared as surplus property with the knowledge that they may be demolished or sold for scrap
and/or moving.

It is anticipated that we will place an add in the LMC Cities Bulletin advertising the sale of the
above listed vehicles and computer equipment and/or publish them in the Anoka Union to be sold
by sealed bid to the highest bidder. The sale of the buildings will be based on quotes received for
salvage or in conjunction with the sale of the site.
