COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Business Newsletter and Continuing Education Opportunities <br /> <br />Chairperson Wagner informed the EDC that he had recently met with Mayor Hardin conceming the <br />idea to distribute information about classes, grants, and financial assistance that may be available to <br />local businesses suggested that this idea be placed upon the next meeting agenda as the only case. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGhee agreed with the idea as his company had recently found a wide variety of <br />grants were available after receiving help from a local group in the City of Elk River. <br /> <br />The consensus of the EDC was for Commissioner McGhee to provide the information he had <br />received and for Mr. Gromberg to get information from other sources for the October meeting of <br />the EDC. <br /> <br />STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Gromberg brought the EDC up to date on the status of the covenants in the Industrial Area. <br />The City Council has reviewed the covenants and suggested that the Architectural Review Board be <br />comprised of two Planning Commission members, two Economic Development Commission <br />members, two property owners, and the City Administrator. At this time, the EDC should appoint <br />two members to serve on the Board. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ullen inquired as to whom was appointed from the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Gromberg replied that he did not know and that, currently, the owners of Command <br />Corporation and Carbon Product Technology would be the property owner representatives. <br /> <br />The consensus of the EDC was to appoint Chairperson Wagner and Commissioner Kent to the <br />Architectural Review Board. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kent and seconded by Commissioner Ullen to adjourn the meeting of the <br />Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Wagner, Commissioners Nelson, Kent, Stafki, <br />McGhee and Ullen. Voting No: None.
