Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to table the
contract amendment with BRW for the transportation plan and have staff prepare a report
on which charges are legitimate and which are not.

Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Beahen
and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

Case //6: Amend Engineering Contracts for Expanded Scope of Services

City Engineer Jankowski reported that in October I993, the City of Ramsey accepted a
proposal from Hakanson-Anderson, Inc. for engineering services for the design of
Sunwood Drive (IP #94-16). In September 1994, the City accepted a proposal from
Hakanson~Anderson, Inc. for engineering services for the design of sewer and water
extensions to service Anoka Electric Cooperative's new facilities (IP #94-20). Basic
engineering services for both of these projects were awarded on the basis of a not-to-
exceed maximum cost. Since the award, the scope of both of these projects has expanded,
warranting a modification of the existing not-to-exceed amount. Mr. Pete Raatikka
submitted a letter outlining the proposed increases and Mr. Jankowski felt they appear
reasonable.

Councilmember Zimmerman agreed that the costs are justified.

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to
recommend to City Council amendment of existing agreement to modify the engineering
contracts for Project g94-16 and g94-20.

Further discussion: Councilmember Beyer commented that she appreciates the fact that this
is coming for Council approval before going over the not-to-exceed amount.

Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beahen, Beyer
and Peterson. Voting No: None.

ADJOURNMENT

Consensus was to adjourn the meeting

The regular meeting of the Finance Committee adjourned at 7:04 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
~!~ecording Secretap7

Jessie Hart
Finance Officer

Finance Committee/June 27, 1995
