City of Ramsey

15153 NOW'THEN BOULEVARD N.W., RAMSEY,

MINNESOTA 55303

PHONE (612) 427-1410 FAX (612) 427-5543
TTD (612) 427-8591

DRAFT PARK AND TRAIL PLAN

Dear Resident:

Attached you will find materials relating to the Park and Recreation Commission's Draft Park and
Trail Plan. The current plan was adopted by Ramsey City Council in May, 1991. The Draft plan
is very similar, the primary changes reflect street and subdivision locations that were not in place in
1991.

Later this year, City Council will adopt an updated City Comprehensive Plan. The Park and
Recreation Commission's Park and Trail Plan will be an element of the larger plan. This
Comprehensive Plan will demonstrate the various land use, transportation, and infrastructure
relationships of which the park system is an essential part.

Please note that all documents contained herein are in draft form. The first attachment is the map.
Following that is the schematic view of the trail designations listed on the map legend.

The third item is a memorandum summarizing revisions agreed to at the Park and Recreation
Commission December meeting. As the memo explains, all changes may not be entered onto the
map until it is ready for presentation to City Council. The.last few pages are various position
statements related to trail design, purpose, and rationale. This document has been approved by the
Park and Recreation Commission, but is subject to modification.

The City welcomes your valuable input on this important recreation and open space issue.

Sincerely,

Mark Boos
Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Enc.
