Feb., 1995 <br /> <br />May. 1994 i i Jeanne Forrest and Patty Hill have three days of staff development time to work <br /> ~ ROd Vacek, Rod Kuehn, and Lisa Gilliland on evaluating RELA environmental <br /> r~our~:es, coordinating an environmental program for Ramsey School, and to begin <br /> c%necting our science curriculum with ELA facilities. <br /> r~ <br />August, 1994 ;, Ramsey ELA Workshop (two half days) was attended by 25 of 28 Ramsey <br /> clai~sroom teachers. (See enclosed agenda.) <br />October, 1994 1~ Ramsey became a Twin City Tree Trust School. Fourteen Ramsey teachers <br /> attended Project Learning Tree class at Ramsey school. (They paid their own tuition.) <br /> (s~e attached course description.) <br /> <br /> Te~¢h~rsr used the knowledge gained to lead their students on Nature Trail activities <br /> an~' di~scussions. <br /> <br /> Fir{t ~ade stUdents harvested carrots and pumpkins from garden planted by last <br /> year s first graders. <br /> <br />December, 1994 Ramsey School applied for SNAP (School Nature Area Project) School P :a~ship Grant and a School Action Grant. (See attached applications.) <br />January, 1994. i, Ramsey School applied for Lawful.Gambling Proceeds Grant from the City of <br /> Ramsey to fund a boardwalk into the Wetland area of the RELA. <br /> <br /> ~ The Ramsey Green Team and the RELA Committee are cooperatively planning <br /> the! Environmental Expo which will be on the Ramsey School Site on April 29. <br /> Ra~sey staff is planning environmental activities for the proceeding week to build up <br /> to.l~xp~, Students and staff will present exhibits, songs, speakers for Expo. The Nsture <br /> Tr~l .w~l be dedicated and Ramsey, hopefully, will be the regional location for Arbor <br /> Da~ith~S year. <br /> <br />February, 1994 ii Twin City Tree Trust will present a landscape design to Ramsey ELA <br /> Committee and KKE Architect firm. We are looking to create plant/animal <br /> cor~m~lities on the School Site, to create an arboretum with unusual ~'ee species to <br /> su.~..c~ fifth grade science curriculum, and to develop a more extensive walking trail <br /> wl'ii~ ,Will connect with the existing Nature Trail. <br /> <br /> <br />
