Adopt Resolution g05-04-060 receiving and awarding bid for the 1995 annual <br />spring Pet Clinic <br />Adopt Resolution #95-04-061 granting request for extension of variance to <br />Benjamin Deemer <br />Authorize expenditure of $4,406.06 on lighting, electrical and fencing contingent <br />upon receipt of $2,000 toward this purchase from the Ramsey Youth Athletic <br />Association <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beahen, Beyer <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: Introduce Interns <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder explained that the City has hired two interns, Kendra Lindahl <br />and Beth Malaby. Beth Malaby was unavailable for this evening; however, Kendra is here <br />to introduce herself to Council. <br /> <br />Kendra introduced herself and stated that she is hoping to learn a lot from her internship at <br />the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Case g2: North Metro Mayors Association <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that last year the City of Ramsey withdrew from the <br />North Metro Mayors Association (NMMA). Council requested that it be placed on the <br />agenda for further discussion. <br /> <br />Elwyn Tinklenberg was present to discuss Ramsey once again becoming a member of the <br />NMMA. He summarized some of the things the NMMA has been working on and also <br />explained what the cost for cities to belong to the Association is based on. <br /> <br />Consensus of Council was that this issue would be placed on the next Council meeting and <br />a decision would be made at that time whether or not the City would become a member of <br />the NMMA. <br /> <br />Case #3: Workers' Compensation <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that a representative of the Anoka County Chamber of <br />Commerce was supposed to be present to discuss workers' compensation rates; however, <br />there is no representative present. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to table the <br />discussion of the workers' compensation rates until a representative of the Anoka County <br />Chamber of Commerce is present. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beahen, Beyer <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: 1995 Business EXPO <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that each year for the past several years, Council has <br />budgeted $2,000 to be appropriated for the Business EXPO.
