CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 1995, at the
Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Mayor Glen Hardin
Councilmember Carolyn Beahen
Councilmember Sheila Beyer
Councilmember Kenneth Peterson
Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman

Also Present:

City Administrator Ryan Schroeder
Finance Officer Jessie Hart
Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik
City Attorney William Goodrich

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Hardin called the regular City Council meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. and led in the
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

PRESENTATION TO FIRE FIGHTER DAVID LEWANDOWSKI

Mayor Hardin presented Volunteer Fire Fighter Dave Lewandowski with his Fire
Department badge, commemorating the end of his probationary period. He commended
him for his service and commitment to fire fighting.

CITIZEN INPUT

Kathy Rand, 16125 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, presented pictures of damage
done to the boulevard by snowmobilers. She stated that she has planted grass seed every
year and she's tired of the work and expense to it. She inquired if the City would help her
put new sod down and asked that her rights to have nice green grass be considered too.
She asked that Council consider what they will do about snowmobiling next winter.

Larry Hicks, 16138 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, stated he has the same problem.
His driveway gets iced over from snowmobiles driving across it. He felt they have no
consideration for private property.

Al Pearson, 14821 Bowers Drive N.W., Ramsey, agreed there is no consideration for
private property. "If anyone has sustained damage, it's me. I have plowed under 40 acres
of rye again - that's thousands of dollars. If I was on this Council, I would ban
snowmobiling anywhere but on a trail. It's time you do it. I have had my belly full. If I
catch someone, they will need a police officer to get their snowmobile back".

APPROVE AGENDA

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve
the agenda as presented.

City Council/May 9, 1995
