Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />Case #6: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br /> 1) Schooling for Additional D.A.R.E. Officer <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported that with the additional fifth grade classes at Ramsey <br />Elementary, another officer should be trained in the D.A.R.E. Program. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve <br />training Officer Tim Dwyer to be one of the two D.A.R.E. instructors. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />2) 1996 - 2001 Parks and Recreation Commission Capital Improvements <br /> Program <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Park and Recreation Commission as well as the Finance <br />Committee has reviewed and revised the 1996 - 2001 Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Capital Improvements Program. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />the 1996 - 2001 Parks and Recreation Commission Capital Improvements Program. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman and <br />Beyer. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />3) Disposition of Forfeit Property <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported the reasons given by Police Chief Auspos for requesting a <br />VCR and TV within the Police Department. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to authorize the <br />purchase of a TV and VCR for the Police Deparunent, along with a cart purchased through <br />Administration's sources with $650 allocated from the Police special Fund using the drug <br />forfeiture monies. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />4) Update on New Police Facility <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that the Finance Committee reviewed the update <br />presented them on the new police facility. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve <br />the $600,000 budget allocation to the Police Department facih'ty built and that staff should <br />pursue a design/build project contingent upon City Attorney review. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer and <br />Beahen. Voting No: None.
