City Engineer Jankowski explained that it has been the County's policy that they would abstain <br />from an improvement the City opposes, but the State operates differently. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig agreed that safety was a real concern, but can they continue to push the <br />issue on the right turn lane. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that staff has already sent a letter to the County requesting a <br />meeting on the issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to direct staff to <br />schedule a meeting with Anoka County to discuss the construction of a right turn lane going east <br />on C.R. #116. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Zimmerman, Elvig, Kurak, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: Councilmember Cook. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated that he agreed that the median needed to be extended, but he was <br />tired of having to tell business owners that the State is taking away their access and the City has <br />no say in the matter. <br /> <br />5) Ramsey Park and Ride <br />City Administrator Norman noted that he had a meeting scheduled for July 9, 2003 to discuss the <br />Park and Ride facility. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) RYAA Soccer <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig congratulated the girls U13, girls U12 and boys U12 for taking first place <br />at a Rochester tournament. <br /> <br />2) Comprehensive Plan Review <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated that the Council's review of the Comprehensive Plan needed to <br />happen sooner than later at a work session. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, <br />meeting of the City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adjourn the regular <br /> <br />City Council/July 8, 2003 <br /> Page 29 of 30 <br /> <br /> <br />
