CASE # I <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR ADOPTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT <br />WORKSHEET (EAW) FINDINGS OF FACT AND ISSUE A NEGATIVE <br />DECLARATION FOR NEED OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT ON <br />SUNWOOD DRIVE N.W. BETWEEN KRYPTON STREET N.W. AND <br />INDUSTRY AVENUE N.W. (COUNTY ROAD #116) <br /> By: James Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator <br /> Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the April 12, 1994 City Council meeting, the City Council approved and authorized the <br />submittal of the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the 1.3 mile segment of <br />Sunwood Drive N.W. between Krypton Street N.W. and Industry Avenue N.W. (County Road <br />#116). Pursuant to Minnesota Rules, the City has submitted the EAW to the required agencies as <br />defined on the EQB distribution list. The following agencies received a copy of the EAW for <br />review and comment: <br /> <br />Environmental Quality Board <br />Department of Public Service <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />Pollution Control Agency <br />Department of Transportation <br />Legislative Reference Library <br />U.S. Army Corps of Engineers <br />U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service <br /> <br />Deparunent of Health <br />Department of Agriculture <br />Office of Waste Management <br />Board of Water and Soil Resources <br />Historical Society <br />Environmental Conservation Library <br />U.S. Environmental Protection Agency <br />Metropolitan Council <br /> <br />The notice of EAW availability was published in the April 25, 1994 issue of the EQB Monitor and <br />the Anoka County Union, April 22, 1994. The thirty (30) day comment period ended on May 26, <br />1994. The City received replies from the following agencies: <br /> <br />Metropolitan Council <br />Minnesota Department of Natural Resources <br />Minnesota Historical Society <br />Mr. Ben Deemer, nearby landowner <br /> <br />The questions and concerns raised by these letters have been addressed in the findings of fact. <br />Attached for your review are copies of the letters received and the corresponding replies. <br /> <br />The proposed alignment calls for the removal and mitigation of 0.80 acres of wetland. The <br />wetland mitigation will be done to the remaining basins in the immediate vicinity.
