Memorandum <br />May 19, 1994 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL TRAIL ISSUES TO ADDRESS WITH PARKS AND <br />RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Need to determine if there are additional opportunities for commuter trail <br />development <br />Need to address Highway 10, which is a barrier to pedestrian and bicycle <br />movements, and prevents access to the river from the north <br />Identify additional opportunities for trails to and along the Rum River <br />Safety for the trail user when the trail is within the right-of-way of existing <br />streets <br />TH 47 is an inhospitable environment for trail users (bikers) <br />Need to include passive open space and trail development in development <br />review process <br /> <br />Further work on developing the Trail System element of the Comprehensive Plan will <br />include additional analysis of issues, land use planning completed by RLK, consensus <br />from the Committee dn the roadway and bridge location plans, and an analysis of <br />transit potential. <br /> <br /> <br />
