Harlan Rude, 6219 144th Lane N.W. - inquired about the park that was proposed in the original
plat.

Commissioner Deemer responded that a park was proposed with the modified proposal when the
builder requested a cul-de-sac.

Mr. Rude inquired about the size of Mr. Deemer's lots, and Mr. Deemer replied that they were
10,800 square feet with sewer and water.

Mr. Rude inquired about the impact this proposal would have on the wetlands.

Ms. Frolik explained that impact on 400 square feet or less is allowed, and that is the configuration
for this proposal.

Kay McCulley, 14431 Wolfram Street N.W. - inquired about park dedication.

Ms. Frolik explained that all park land has been developed for Chestnut Hill and only cash
dedication for park improvements remains.

Ms. McCulley inquired whether the trail proposal around Hunters Hill affects this development.

Ms. Frolik discussed the changes in trail plans that have taken place in the last three years since the
platting of Chestnut Hill.

Ms. McCulley questioned how the trail will be extended around the park.

Ms. Frolik discussed condemnation and property acquisition policies.

Ms. McCulley expressed her appreciation that the developer responded to the citizens' concerns.

Ms. Frolik inquired whether Ms. McCulley opposed the trail connection.

Ms. McCulley stated she was undecided but found condemnation proceedings to be extreme.

Ms. Frolik advised that this segment of the trail connection goes to City Council the last Tuesday in
July (the 26th) and depends on the recommendation from City Staff.

Arthur Reeser, 6300 144th Avenue N.W. - stated he was deeply concerned over the increasing
traffic traveling down 144th Avenue N.W. with children at play, referring to the City Engineer's
comment that there would have to be some serious incidences before getting a sign put up. Mr.
Reese was also concerned about the trail plan interfering with septic systems.

Ms. Frolik directed Mr. Reese to address his sign request to either the Chief of Police or the Public
Works Supervisor who would bring it to the attention of the City Engineer.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Holland to adjourn the public
hearing.

Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland, LaDue,
Terry, and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Hendriksen.

Public Hearing/Planning Commission/July 5, 1994
Page 2 of 3
