Ms. Jackson stated that the entry is a set of sliding glass doors.

Mr. Moss expressed concern about getting into the house that way in the wintertime.

Ms. Jackson advised that she has purchased a snow blower and will keep a path to the door
plowed.

Mr. Moss declared that he strictly opposed the permit, stating that the homes in the area were
designed as single family homes and should remain as such, otherwise subsequent requests will
arise. He also noted his concern over frequent renters in the home.

Ms. Frolik clarified the terms of the CUP, stating that it remains in effect for as long as the
property owner lives on the property, including subsequent owners. In other words, the CUP is
tied to the property, not the owner.

Debra Moss, 8320 157th Lane N.W. -stated she opposed the CUP and expressed her concern that
this home would always be a house with an apartment. She could not foresee anyone buying the
home and ripping out the apartment. She felt that if the CUP were granted the home would no
longer be single family.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Terry to adjourn the public
hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Terry, Holland,
LaDue, and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Hendriksen.

The public hearing adjourned at 8:10 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Joan~usler' '
Recording Secretary

Sylvia Frolik
Zoning Administrator

Public Hearing/Planning Commission/July 5, 1994
Page 2 of 2
