Figure 2: Andover Bridee Ootions <br /> <br />Figure 2 illustrates four possible Rum River bridge crossings to the City of Andover. The four <br />options include: <br /> <br />A. <br />B. <br />C. <br />D. <br /> <br />Powerline easement corridor <br />Golf Course corridor <br />Boy Scout Camp corridor <br />153rd corridor <br /> <br />Each corridor offers its own opportunities for land use development potential. The preferred <br />option is corridor C, Boy Scout Camp. This corridor is favored because it is equidistant <br />between the two existing bridges at CR 116 and Seventh Street in the City of Andover. It also <br />allows extending the bridge connection west of TH 47 to the intersection of Nowthen and <br />Sunfish Lake BIvds. <br /> <br />Utilization of this bridge corridor would enable the Boy Scout camp to redeveloper as <br />residential property if the camp ceases operation. <br /> <br />To date, none of these options have been specifically discussed with the City of Andover or the <br />Boy Scouts of America. <br /> <br />Figure 3: Elk River Connection <br /> <br />Figure 3 illustrates an east-west roadway connection with the City of Elk River. The existing <br />173rd St. would be improved and ex-tended into the City of Elk River. Extension of 173rd St. <br />is consistent with the City of Elk River's transportation plan, which will create an east/west <br />corridor through Elk River. JavAs Street would be extended and improved jointly by the Cities <br />of Elk River and Ramsey. <br /> <br />The proposed land use in this area would be predominately Single Family Residential. A <br />possibility may exist for a small neighborhood commercial center depending on area <br />development patterns. <br /> <br /> <br />
