Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Thorud, <br />Hendriksen, and LaDue. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Holland and Terry. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden adjourned the regular Planning Commission meeting at 7:33 p.m. in order to <br />conduct the following public heatings: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Store Commercial Vehicles and Equipment in the <br />R-1 Rural Residential District; Case of Gordon Hicks. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Request for Preliminary Plat Approval of Chestnut Ridge 2nd Addition; Case of Good <br />Value Homes. <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the regular Planning Commission meeting back to order at 7:46 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case gl: <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Store Commercial Vehicles <br />and Equipment in the R-1 Rural Residential District; Case of Gordon <br />Hicks <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Gordon Hicks has applied for a conditional use permit <br />(CUP) to store commercial vehicles and equipment relating to his asphalt repair business at his <br />home at 16340 Nowthen Boulevard N.W. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission proceeded to review the Findings of Fact. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Planning Commission that 4/1 through #13 would remain as presented. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thorud to amend//14 to read "That the proposed use will not be unduly <br />dangerous or otherwise detrimental to persons residing or working in the vicinity of the use, or to <br />the public welfare." <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Chairperson Bawden inquired about the type of minor repairs that will be <br />done on the subject property, and Patricia Hicks stated that minor mechanical repairs to the <br />machinery will be done but that Wright Tires will be doing all other maintenance and repairs on <br />vehicles. <br /> <br />Motion dies for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to amend #14 to <br />read "That the proposed use will be detrimental to persons residing or working in the vicinity of the <br />use, or to the public welfare." <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Deemer commented that there was insufficient information to <br />determine whether the use would be unduly dangerous. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/August 2, 1994 <br /> Page 2 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
