The Economic Development Commission also reviewed the possible land uses and recommended
the uses shown on Figure 8. These uses were chosen for the following reasons:

a)

Multiple-family housing should be used as a buffer between commercial/industrial uses and
single, family residential. However, the balance of single-family to multi-family should not
grow above 70 percent to 30 percent split of total units.

b)

Land uses should be kept general to allow for market-driven decisions and a large degree of
flexibility.

c) This map should be used as a planning tool and not as a zoning map for the City.

Based upon this criteria for both transportation and land use, the Economic Development
Commission has developed Figure 8. This figure is similar to the one preferred by the consultants,
with minor changes to facilitate the Economic Development Commission's concerns.

Should you have any questions as to this figure, please contact a member of the Commission with
your concerns. The Commission believes that the City Council should review this proposal, as
well as any proposal forthcoming from the Planning Commission, and choose a plan to conduct a
public hearing on. The Economic Development Commission will he looking forward to your
decision and will help you complete this process to the best of its abilities.
