Motion by Mayor Gilbertson and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to recommend <br />that Council approves purchasing the Minnesota Sawdust Plant for a price of $310,000 and <br />that a remodeling budget be set at $280,000. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Beyer expressed concern about the Public Works <br />Department being expected to do the construction to which Mr. Schroeder stated that all the <br />prices quoted are contracted prices. There is a committee formed to come back with bids. <br />He suspected that the Public Works Department would want to do a part of it. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, <br />Hardin and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Options on Ramsey Industrial Land Parcels <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder presented the industrial property acquisition list along with a <br />map showing where the properties are located, a description of the properties and possible <br />uses along with a comparison based on market value and usable acreage. He stated that he <br />is asking City Council to review this material and individually report back to him whether <br />or not they are in agreement with this. The Committee consisting of Mayor Gilbertson, <br />Councilmember Hardin and City Administrator Schroeder is planning to meet on July 6, <br />1994. He asked that Council also authorize discussion with property owners along <br />McKinley Su'eet. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to <br />recommend that Council authorize initiating discussions with property owners for land <br />acquisitions beginning with the top priority parcels. Bring back discussions to the Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Hardin, <br />Beyer and Peterson.
