COMMISSION BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />REVIEW OF PARK DEDICATION FOR CHESTNUT HILL BASED <br />ON REVISED PRELIMINARY PLAT <br /> <br />Derrick Passe, spokesperson for John Peterson, Good Value Homes, introduced the revised plat <br />indicating a verbal agreement with Mr. Deemer to purchase the northern end of triangular shaped <br />Outlot B had been reached providing for a berm to be constructed wide enough to allow a trail <br />along it skirting the northwest edge of the wetlands. <br /> <br />Members of the Park and Recreation Commission explained to the residents that their focus is to <br />provide safe access for all residents to larger parks and between neighborhood parks. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was to decide whether a trail easement <br />between Hunter's Hill Park and 145th Lane was feasible and appropriate indicating that actual <br />design of any a'ail or other park improvements would come at a later date. <br /> <br />Residents voiced concerns about losing their privacy, effects of disruption on wetland animals, <br />snowmobilers, security, and acquisition of private property. <br /> <br />Mr. Scrhoeder inquired as to the feasibility of selling another 35 feet to the west to Good Value. <br />Mr. Deemer explained that Good Value could not meet his price. He explained that with his <br />contract, he can only sell or build on the east 135 feet of his property and since this is not an <br />option, he chooses to retain the land for privacy and never develop the land. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued with Mr. Schroeder and Commissioners reviewing information and maps with <br />the residents. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Cook and seconded by Commissioner Swokowski to recommend <br />requiring a trail link from Hunter's Hill Park to Sunwood Drive with Good Value providing the <br />easement and high land on the east side of the berm with the trail located on park property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissioners Cook, Florentius, Henn and <br />Swokowski. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johns. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder referred to a handout given to the Commissioners supplying background <br />information on the Capital Improvement Progam that will be discussed at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />Next Park and Recreation Commission Meeting <br /> <br />The next regular scheduled Park and Recreation Commission meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on <br />Thursday, August 11, 1994, tentatively, at Fox Park. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Cook to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/July 14, 1994 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
