ROAD AND BRIDGE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Road and Bridge Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, <br />February 22, 1994, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson called the regular meeting of the Road and Bridge Committee to order at <br />5:54 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Results of Dirt Paving Survey <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that, as directed, the surveys had been sent out to residents <br />residents on dirt streets to determine their degree of interest in seeing the dirt streets paved. <br />The results of the survey are as follows: twenty-nine people thought the cost was too high, <br />ten felt that the sewer and water will cause replacement, six were concerned that paving will <br />increase speeding on their street, five commented that they like their country-like <br />atmosphere, five reported they do not have a driveway on the proposed improved street, <br />five expressed concern about drainage, four felt that the City should pay the cost, two were <br />concerned there would be increased traffic, two felt that the interest rote charged is too high <br />and there were 13 surveys against the paving without a reason shown. He suggested <br />having an informational meeting with the surveyed residents to discuss their concerns. <br /> <br />Mayor Cdlbertson felt that a subsidy may entice the people to petition for their street to be <br />paved. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowsld stated that not all of the projects are expensive. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Committee was to authorize an informational meeting with the residents. <br /> <br />Road and Bridge Committee/February 22, 1994 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
