Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Cdlbertson recessed thc regular City Council meeting at 8:47 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Oilbertson called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 8:57 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #15: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported that the Finance Committee approved the purchase of a <br />snowmobile helmet and two face masks for the Police Department. The 1994 Community <br />Developrdent Block Crrant (CDBG) Fund allocation was discussed. One of the suggestions <br />from the Committee was that restoration of the old school house should be considered. <br />Ms. Hart ~xplained that the Minnesota Municipal Money Market Fund (4M Fund) is a <br />professionally managed money market fund. It enables Minnesota cities to pool short-term <br />investablemonies and earn high money market rates while maintaining safety of principal. <br /> <br />Motion bY Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to adopt <br />Resolution ~94-01-010 authorizing entry into a Joint Powers Agreement in the form of a <br />Declaration of Trust establishing an entity known as "Minnesota Municipal Money Market <br />Fund" aff~d authorizing participation of certain investment programs in connection <br />therewith. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Beyer, Hardin, Peterson <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart stated that the Finance Committee reviewed certain 1994 purchases and Council <br />adopted that resolution this evening along with the Consent Agenda approving such <br />purchases. The request from the Ramsey Lions to be exempt from the limit of lawful <br />gamblingi sites was also discussed. The Committee decided to table this case until the <br />Gamblin~ Committee has a chance to do more research on the subject. The Committee also <br />discusse~ open meeting law defense cost reimbursement coverage. They also delayed <br />action on that case until the Insurance Agent of Record can produce more information. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Conference for Newly Elected Officials <br /> <br />City Admi~'nistrator Schroeder reminded Council of the Conference for Newly Elected <br />Officials. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion c ~arried.
