Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to enter into <br />a one-year contract with Ace Solid Waste, Inc. for recycling pick-up with an option to <br />extend the contract an additional six months at the same cost. The City will notify Ace by <br />January 1, 1995 whether or not the City is planning to extend the contract. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Peterson and Hardin. Voting No: <br />Councilmember Zimmerman. Absent: Mayor Gilbertson and Councilmember Beyer. <br /> <br />7) Report on Diagnosis of TI990 Computer Problems: Ms. Hart explained that MASYS <br />has installed a new memory board for the Police Departments TI990 computer system. The <br />Finance Committee is recommending purchasing the upgraded memory board if it rectifies <br />the lock-up problem. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />approve the purchase of the upgraded memory board from MASYS Corporation for <br />$500.00, pending the outcome of the 60-day test period. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Hardin, Zimmerman and Peterson. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Mayor Gilbertson and Councilmember Beyer. <br /> <br />8) Report on Status of Solid Waste Management Charge to "Exempt" Municipal Owner <br />Properties: Ms. Hart explained that the County is offering a reduction to the solid waste <br />management charge on City-owned properties. She requested authorization to pursue <br />appealing the entire charge. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to authorize <br />the Finance Officer to appeal the entire solid waste management charge on City-owned <br />properties. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Peterson, Hardin and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Mayor Gilbertson and Councilmember Beyer. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) "Suburb Rating Article" in Minneapolis Star Tribune <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson summarized an article in the April 26, 1994 issue of the <br />Minneapolis Star Tribune rating suburbs. Out of 47 suburbs, the City of Ramsey rated #7. <br />He suggested this rating is something to be very proud of. <br /> <br />2) Events for Saturday, April 30, 1994 <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson reminded citizens about the annual Pet Clinic at Central Park from <br />8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 1994 and the Tree Sale at City Hall, <br />beginning at 7:00 a.m., also on Saturday, April 30, 1994. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carded.
