CASE #1: <br /> <br />REVIEW PROPOSED ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH REGULATIONS FOR <br />MOVING STRUCTURES INTO AND WITHIN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As you may recall, at the last workshop meeting of the City Council/Planning and Zoning <br />Commissioni Subcommittee, Staff was directed to draft an ordinance to prohibit the moving of <br />structures in$o and within the City. Staff discussed this direction with the City Attorney and he <br />advised agaigst absolute prohibition as it could be challenged as discriminatory. City Attorney <br />Goodrich stated that establishing stringent regulations for moving in structures can provide the <br />protection the City desires without being discriminatory. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />For your re,dew, enclosed is a draft ordinance to establish regulations for moving structures into <br />and within ~e City of Ramsey. Councilmember Zimmerman is not sure that he will be able to <br />attend the w~kshop but he asked that the subcommittee consider amending the proposed ordinance <br />to allow the moving of structures into the rural district only. <br /> <br />Based upon': conversations with the City Administrator, Subd. 5, Item #2 of the proposed <br />ordinance has been amended from the draft ordinance provided to the subcommittee on August 12. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends that the subcommittee review the proposed ordinance and be prepared to <br />suggest addi/i'ons, deletions and/or amendments at the workshop. <br /> <br />Subcommittee Action: <br /> <br />Will be based on your discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />CC/PZ: <br /> <br />City Building Official <br />9/7/93 <br /> <br /> <br />
