At this meeting, the
EDC had dischssed the timely receipt of City Council meeting minutes. As you may be aware,
over the past couple of years the City has assigned one individual the responsibility for taking,
transcribing :~d disseminating all meeting minutes for the Park and Recreation Commission,
Charter Commission, Horse Care Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission and all City
Council meeti,'ngs including their Budget, Personnel and Road and Bridge Committees. As was
noted at the ~ecember 9, 1992 EDC meeting, this has proven to be a significant burden upon one
staff person. Therefore, on October 13, 1992, the City Council authorized the filling of a newly
created second receptionist position with the intent that this position would lend assistance with the
meeting minules. At the same time (October 13 and October 27) the City Council authorized the
filling of existing vacancies in Clerk-Typist and Accounting Clerk positions. On December 16,
1992, City Council made appointments to fill these three positions which will start January 4,
1993. Two of the persons recommended for hire have the necessary skills to lend assistance with
the minutes. 'rFurther, one or both of these individuals will be assigned to a Commission on an
ongoing basis.

Given the above, it is expected that during the first quarter of 1993, the delivery of meeting
minutes will occur in a timely fashion.
