You will find the final draft of the standard agreement, staff reports (to <br />summarize 'the agreement) and PowerPoint-presentations for details of our analysis. Based on 12% of <br />the City budget being used for street maintenance we have indicated 'that an average of about $61 <br />dollars (-12% of the City portion of property taxes from an average .townhouse unit) per townhouse unit <br />is designated for public streets. <br /> <br />Townhome owners are served by public collector streets and arterials accessing their subdivisions even <br />when private streets were used within the development (and therefore we have found that townhome <br />owners do have an obligation to contribute to public street maintenance costs). Private streets give the <br />associations more control. They can limit use/access (trespassing), install gates and govern parking to <br />meet their own desires for example. <br /> <br />I hope this materiaI is useful.
