NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

City Council meeting minutes dated January 26, 1993, and February 9, 1993, were duly noted.

COMMISSION BUSINESS

Case /t5: Accept Resignation of Commissioner Schroeder from the Economic
Development Commission.

Commission~ Alice Schroeder arrived and requested that an additional case be added to the
agenda. Case #5: Accept resignation of Commissioner Schroeder from the EDC.

Ms. Schroeder's duties in her new position have required additional time and have prevented her
from full pafficipafion in the EDC. Based upon these changes in her life, she regretfully resigns
from the Economic Development Commission.

Motion by Commissioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Ullen to regretfully accept the
resignation of Alice Schroeder.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Wagner, Commissioners Fults, Gorecki, Greenberg,
Nelson, Schroeder and Ullen. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Kent.

Case #1: 1993 Business Appreciation Day.

As in the past, the EDC will be sponsoring the 1993 Business Appreciation Day. The City has
received proposals from Rum River Hills and Northfork Links golf courses to host this event on or
about August 27, 1993. In order to facilitate smooth planning and marketing of this event, the
EDC should begin planning the exact date and select a location. Due to the wide range of costs
associated with each of the bids, the City has broken them down on a comparison basis. The cost,
per golfer, at Rum River Hills would be approximately $39.25. The cost at Northfork Links
would be around $65.00, per golfer, for the same basic package.

Chairperson Wagner asked how we should handle this event next year and it was the general
consensus of,the Commission that the EDC submit a letter to each golf course in the City around
the beginning of the year giving them a cost per golfer that those in charge of Business
Appreciation Day one willing to pay and the type of package the bidder can put together for that
cost in an effort to rotate the event between golf courses in the City. However, if the price gap
remains this wide, the event may continue to be held at Rum River Hills.

Motion by Commissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Fults to schedule the 1993
Business Appreciation Day for August 27, 1993, at Rum River Hills Golf Course for a cost of $45
per golfer and the cost of dinner being $15.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Wagner, Commissioners Fults, Gorecki, Greenberg,
Nelson, Schroeder and Ullen. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Kent.

A discussion ensued as to who would chair this event. Commissioner Fults graciously
volunteered as long as other EDC members assisted with planning elements such as prize
coordination and setting up the events for the day.

Economic Development Commission / April 14, 1993
Page 2 of 4
