We can distribute them at the next meeting.

Case 02: Green Team at Ramsey Elementary School.

Beth Mitchell reviewed her initiative with the Tree Trust for a Spring 1994 partnership at
Ramsey Elementary School. Wendy Graves from the PTA Green Team suggested that the
teachers be an.early part of the planning. They only meet twice a year for planning and the
remainderiof the time is spent implementing the plan. Ms. Mitchell and Ms. Henry both liked
the idea. By consensus, the committee agreed that a spring partnership would give the
necessary lead time. We can reserve our "seed" money for the proposed spring events. (Mr.
Widerstrom assented to be planting site technician.)

Case 03: Ramsey Tree Tour.

In lieu of a formal tree planting this fall, a Ramsey Yard Tree Tour was proposed. The Anoka
Garden Club does such a tour. A discussion ensued regarding the concept and organization.
The dates proposed for this tour were Saturday, October 2, 1993 and October 9, 1993. We
will finalize the plans at the next regular meeting, which will be held on Wednesday,
September 8, 1993 at 7:00 p.m.

Case #4: Elm Institute.

Bruce BaCOn proposed that the Green Tree Committee spend $30 to join the Elm Institute,
whose program is to provide "Liberty" American Elms (not hybrids) for planting and nursery
stock. They can be resold for fund-raisers. The City forestry effort would be a logical partner
for this effort.

Green Tree Committee/August 11, 1993
