The tot lot <br />is to be pla¢~d near the 142nd Avenue entrance with a "sandlot" ballfield to the northwest. <br />Discussion en~ued as to the ultimate goal for the park. Lighting will be placed along the trail at <br />approximately 700 foot intervals as per the #116 trail corridor. Mr. Schroeder indicated that the <br />City will ulfi~tely acquire more property for the park to enhance the existing picnic area with <br />shelters and gl'ills. <br /> <br />Case g2: i Approve 1999 Capital Improvement Projection <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder and Mr. Boos explained the Parks Capital Improvements Projections as they relate <br />to time tables and dollar amounts. Discussion ensued regarding adoption of the 1999 CIP as is, or <br />to amend it to allow for development of parks like Flintwood Terrace Park earlier than the <br />proposed 1996 date. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gookin indicated that if the opportunity to acquire additional property for Flintwood <br />Terrace Park arose, the acquisition should be acted upon. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos indicated that he is working with the City Engineering Department to prepare park plans <br />for each area. This will further help the Commission in preparing budgets. <br /> <br />Commissioner Swokowski motioned to approve the CIP as amended. Consensus approved by <br />Chairperson Hefland and Commissioner Gookin. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Schroed~ invited Mr. Skinner and Mr. Warner to informally explain to the Commissioners <br />why they wet0 interested in becoming a Commissioner on the Park and Recreation Commission. <br />The applican~rin turn questioned Mr. $chroeder, Mr. Boos and the Commissioners on the role the <br />Commission PlaYs in the community and future plans of the Commission. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/August 12, 1993 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
