At the direction of the Committee, an article
requesting '?~u.t fi'om citizens was published in the Ramsey Resident newsletter. Mr. Jankowski
stated that 17~Ramsey residents responded in favor of renaming 153rd/155th Avenue N.W. to
Northfork Dr~ve. The majority of these residents were Northfork residents. In addition, four
other sugge~ns were received for the renaming of 153rcl/155th Avenue N.W. These included
Midway Ro.a4, Sundance Drive, Sunwood Drive and Mount Ramsey Boulevard. One response
was received hadieating that the name change should be reconsidered citing the inconvenience
associated wi~h mY name change. With regard to Sunfish Lake Drive N.W., a total of three
suggested names were received. These included Thom Drive, Seroggins Road and one resident of
Sunny Ponds subdivision suggested renaming it Sunny Ponds Drive.

The Committ~ decided not to endorse any name for consideration at this time, but to schedule a
public hearing at which the suggested names would be entered into the record. The public hearing
would be the> next step in the process for affecting a name change on these roads. These
recommendations will be presented to the City Council at the meeting of July 13, 1993 for
concurrence.

Case g2: ,Trunk Highway #47/County Road #$ Update.

City Engineer Sankowski met with Doug Fisher of Anoka County Highway Department to discuss
the realignment of the intersection of County Road #5 with Trunk Highway 047. The result of that
meeting was a rough concept plan which was contained on a one inch equals 200 foot aerial half
section. From this rough concept plan, the City Engineering Department had prepared an
intersection s~eteh on a topographic base map having a scale of one inch equals 60 feet. This
sketch was presented to the Committee members for review and comment.

Councilmemb~r Zimmerman indicated that the proposed intersection formed an angle which was
ten degrees off of perpendicular.
' Road & Bridge Committee/July 13, 1993
