RESIDENT'S SUGGESTIONS
- 1 ON ROAD NAMES REQUESTED
11
At an April 1, 1993, mooting of tho Road and Bridge Committoe, one topic of discussion
was how to alleviate confusion associated with the namos of two collector streets serving
the City. Sunfish Lake Drive N.W. is a new east/wost collector street which will eventually
run from T.H. 1147, south of 1491h Avenue N.W. to County Road 11116 near the Altron
Company. Portions of this now street have boon constructed in the now Wood Pond Hills
and Sunny Ponds subdivisions located south of City Hall along County Road H5. Obviously
the name Sunfish Lake Drive N.W. is very similar to Sunfish Lake Boulevard N.W. (C.R.
1157) which is also a major thoroughfare in the City. (See bold linos on the map below to
show tho streets for renaming.)
A socond thoroughfare considorod for renaming is 153rd/155th Avenuos. Because of the
importanco of this roadway, it would be less confusing for it to have a single descriptive name.
Tho Road and Bridgo Committee felt it would be worthwhile to obtain citizen input in
considoring appropriate namos for thoso two roadways. Possible namos could be related to
Ramsey's historic past, or to geographic or man-made features.
If you have a suggestion, please stop by, call us at 427-1410 or return the form below to
Ramsoy Municipal Building, 15153 Nowthon Blvd N.W. Ramsoy, MN 55303 by 5 p.m.
Friday, Juno 25, 1993. Tho Road and Dridgo Committee will bo roviowing those
suggestions and making a recommendation to tho City Council in July.
It now road namos are soloctod, the City will need to hold a public hearing and pass an
ordinanco dosignaling tho chango. Proporlios affoclod by an addross chango will be
notitiod by loltor.
