Sunfish Lake Drive N.W. is a new east/west collector street which will eventually
run from T.H. 1147, south of 1491h Avenue N.W. to County Road 11116 near the Altron
Company. Portions of this new strool havo boon constructed in tho now Wood Pond Hills
and Sunny Ponds subdivisions located south of City Hall along County Road 115. Obviously
the name Sunfish Lako Drive N.W. is very similar to Sunfish Lake Boulevard N.W. (C.R.
f157) which is also a major thoroughfare in the City. (See bold linos on the map below to
show the streets for renaming.)
A socond thoroughfare considorod for ronarning is 153rd/155th Avonuos. Bocauso of the
importanco of this roadway, it would bo loss confusing for it to have a single descriptive namo.
The Road and Bridge Commilloo bit it would be worthwhile to obtain citizen input in
considoring appropriate namos for thoso two roadways. Possiblo names could be rotated to
Ramsoy's historic past, or to geographic or man-made foaturos.
If you have a suggestion, please stop by, call us at 427-1410 or return the form below to
Ramsey Municipal Building, 15153 Nowthon Blvd N.W. Ramsoy, MN 55303 by 5 p.m.
Friday, Juno 25, 1993. Tho Road and Dridgo Commiltoo will bo roviowing those
suggostions and making a rocommendation to lho City Council in July.
If new road names are soloctod, the City will need to hold a public hearing and pass an
ordinanco dosignating lho chango.
