ORD~INANCE #O3- CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE BUILDING AND HOUSING CItAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAlVlSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.60 "RESIDENTIAL HOUSING STANDARDS" OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. REPEAL Section 8.61 Multiple Dwellings is herein repealed. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT Section 8.60 "Residential Housing Standards" is amended as follows: 8.60 8.60.01 Residential Housing Maintenance .Standards General Provisions Subd. i. Title. This Section shall be known as the Ramsey Residential Housing Maintenance Standards Section and will be hereinafter referred to as "this Section." Subd. 2. Scope. All provisions of this Section shall apply to all residential properties and structures, occupied or unoccupied, with/n the City, and shall constitute the rrfinimum standards for safe and sanitary occupancy and maintenance thereof. Subd. 3. Purpose. The purpose of this Section is to maintain the City's sanitation, public health, safety, morals, and general welfare and attractiveness, by legislation which shall be Systematically enforced upon all residential property, to avoid excessive or disproportionate expenditures of public funds for public health and safety, crime prevention, fzre protection, and other public services_. The City Council funds that the following objectives are important in achieving the goal of maintaining a safe and healthy community: To protect the character and stability of residential areas with/n the City; To correct and prevent conditions that adversely affect or are likely to. adversely affect the life, safety, general welfare, and health, including the physical, memal and social well being, of persons owning or renting residential facilities within the City; -195-
