Subsection 9.12.09 (Industrial and Business Warehouse) Type Districts is amended to read. <br />as follows: <br /> <br />9.12.09 <br /> <br />E-1 and E-2 Employme .rtl Type Districts <br /> <br /> Subd, 1. Wail, Canopy or marquee Sign. Total sign area may not exceed fifteen <br />(15) percent Of the front building fagade. Sign height shall not exceed the tope of the parapet <br />wall or, if no parapet wall, sign height shall not exceed the height of the eaves. A wall, canopy <br />or marquee sign-may be located on the outermost wall of any principal building but shall not <br />project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to which the sign is to be affixed. 'Where a <br />principal building .is devoted to two (2) or more permitted uses, the operator' of.each such use <br />may install a wall sign upon his/her proportionate share of the building wall to which the sign is <br />to be affixed~ The maximum gross surface area of each .such wall sign shall be determined by <br />calculating the proportionate share of the area of the building wall, including doors and windows <br />to which the sign is to be affixed and applying such proportion to the total permitted wall sign <br />aggregate gross surface area for the building. The gross surface area of a wall sign may be <br />increased by ten percent (10%) if such wall sign: <br /> <br />Consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric, and/or symbolic <br />characters without background except provided by the building surface to <br />which the sign is to be affixed; and <br /> <br /> b. Any illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, shielded <br /> silhouette lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any .lighting where the <br /> light source is visible or exposed on the face or sides of the Characters. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Ground Signs. There shalI not be more than one (I) ground sign for each <br />parcel. The gross surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed one hundred (100) square feet <br />for each exposed face nor exceed-an aggregate gross surface area of two hundred (200) square <br />feet. <br /> <br />Subd; 3. Directional Signs <br /> <br />Directional or instructional signs are permitted in accordance with §9.12.03 <br />subd. 9. <br /> <br />Parking lot directional signs designating parking area entrances and exits are <br />limited to one (1) sign for each entrance and/or exit and shall not exceed <br />four (4) square feet for each exposed face. Parking lot directional signs <br />shall not project higher than five (5) feet in height, as measured from the <br />established grade of the parking area to which such signs are accessory. <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />Parking lot instructional signs designating the conditions of use or <br />identification of parking areas shall not exceed eight (8) square feet and <br />shall not project higher than ten (10) feet in height for wall signs and seven <br />(7) feet in height for ground signs, as measured from the established grade <br />of the parking area(s) to which such signs are accessory <br /> <br /> Subd. 4.
