PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RANISEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Todd Cook <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson' <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Human ResourCes Manager Giv0nna Reed <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:13 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Consider Reorganization of the Community Development Department <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed stated that the Community Development Director is proposing <br />reorganization in the Community Development-Department,. The proposed change, which <br />creates an Assistant Community Development Director position, will provide an additional level <br />of hands-on 'supervision for the Planning, EDA, Housing, and Town Center functions. This <br />position would also be in charge of the entire Community Development Department in the <br />absence of the Director. If the Council were to accept the recommendation for reorganization <br />within the Community Development Department, staff recommends that Patrick Trudgeon be <br />promoted to Assistant Community Development Director. In addition, staff recommends that the <br />maximum salary for the Assistant Community Development Director position be set at $76,463. <br />Mr. Trudgeon would remain at his current step until January 1, 2004, when the new pay scale <br />would take effect. This would be an increase of $1,306 annually over Mr. Trudgeon's current <br />salary range. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak questioned if the current Associate Planner position and the new <br />Associate Planner position will be re-evaluated. <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/June 24, 2003 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br />-49- <br /> <br /> <br />
